Eugene’s has a bright future as the University of Oregon continues to grow and expand its academic and athletic facilities. The public transit system is also growing, with a new westward EMX line opening recently. The downtown areas closest to the Willamette River are being remodeled and a new federal courthouse occupies land that was once a cannery. These changes are expected to continue. It is anticipated that in ten years both the river front project and EMX line to the west will be completed, helping bring more people to the downtown area and revitalizing the community.
